Reviews on Opening bank Accounts Independently at Deniz and VakifBank

Review 1: VakifBank, Erdemli (near Mersin)

“I opened an account this Friday at VakifBank in Erdemli (a small town near Mersin).
I only had to pay around 3,000 TRY after some tough negotiations. Initially, they asked for a $4,000 deposit, then a higher opening fee, even offering to take dollars and exchange them.

Documents required:

  • Passport
  • Turkish Tax ID (which I registered online)

I registered the account with my national SIM card. I asked the specialist if it was possible to open the account, and he said he would try. The system worked smoothly, and I received SMS codes without issues.
